THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

Architectural Sketch Lessons

I am available for sketching lectures, seminars, and private drawing lessons relating to the built environment.

During the summer I teach private architectural drawing lessons. Here, you will be able to practice architectural sketching, perspectives, detailing, toning and perceptual sketching.    We use DC as our laboratory; meetings will occur at different locations throughout the DC area (all accessible by metro).

The class is an opportunity for you to practice and develop your architectural drawing/sketching skills and learn new advanced techniques that will make your drawings come alive! If you are interested on improving your sketching skills, get hands-on experience and receiving one-on-one feedback, then this is perfect class for you.

Please contact me for further details (e.g., fees, availability) and/or to join the class --spaces are limited.

July, 2018

This past July, I took students to several DC historic locations, such as: Union Station, the Renwick Gallery, the National Building Museum, the Organization of American States, among others.  We used low-tech tools to draw and understand the different elements within the built environment.  We practiced everything from architectural details to large building perspectives.

ILLINOIS TOLL HIGHWAY OASIS

Chicago Tribune articleO’Hare tollway oasis bridge, one of a handful left, is set to come down

I worked on this project as a young architect at Cordogan, Clark & Associates, Inc. (Chicago, Illinois) in early 2000s.   I remember creating the as-built and demolition drawings as part of the CCA design team, and later on working on the design and construction documents.  The oasis-bridge was an impressive gateway to Chicago and provided a well-deserve break for drivers. The bridge framed spectacular views of Chicago and the highway.
